Liverpool returns to European action today with a daunting clash against Turkish champions Galatasaray.
The Reds will face an intimidating atmosphere in Istanbul on Tuesday and encounter a side that has won all seven of its league matches this season. Head coach Okan Buruk called on his players to rise to the occasion pre-match, and referenced how Liverpool was out of sorts at the weekend against Crystal Palace.
As for Arne Slot, his press conference centered around the absence of Federico Chiesa, who trained on Tuesday but was deemed not fit to fly to Turkey.
He also discussed Liverpool’s defensive frailties and the team’s recent form.
Hugo Ekitike was the player selected for media duty and he was asked about competing with Alexander Isak, his red card last week and his impressive start to life at Liverpool.
