Gareth Bale has now delivered his verdict on Thomas Frank’s future after Tottenham’s recent Champions League win against Borussia Dortmund.
Thomas Frank went into Tottenham Hotspur’s clash with Borussia Dortmund under intense scrutiny, with defeat widely expected to place his position in serious jeopardy.
Instead, the Champions League win altered the immediate narrative, buying the Dane time and all but guaranteeing his place in the dugout for the upcoming Premier League trip to Burnley.
The reaction at full-time underlined the significance of the result, not only among the players but also within Frank’s coaching staff, who were visibly relieved after a week dominated by speculation and uncertainty.

Speaking on TNT Sports, Gareth Bale addressed the pressure on Thomas Frank and the demands placed on the Tottenham players, focusing on the need for greater intensity and commitment.
He explained that the players need to give a lot more, before going on to state that he does not want the manager to lose his job.
The former Spurs winger said: “I think they needed to give a lot more, they needed to kind of show that work rate, that intensity, show the fans they are willing to work for the shirt and show their commitment.
“They have got a lot of injuries, but again it is a tough one. The manager has not been here for that long, he has not had enough time to maybe bring some signings in and implement his style, and that does take time.”
Bale also touched on the wider uncertainty surrounding the club and its leadership, before offering a personal view on Frank’s situation. “It is tough.
“The chairman has obviously left and he was the one who hired him, then you have got a new kind of regime, so there are all these things up in the air at the moment.
“Time will tell, and hopefully, for me personally, I want to see Tottenham doing well and winning games, and hopefully that happens sooner rather than later without anyone losing their job.”
Spurs must now back up Dortmund result domestically
Spurs now need to turn their attention back to the Premier League, where form has been a persistent issue.
Last time out, they suffered a 2-1 defeat at home to relegation-threatened West Ham United, who sit 18th, compounding frustration among the home crowd.
While the Dortmund win was a much-needed boost, supporters will be hoping Tottenham can make it back-to-back victories when they travel to Burnley at Turf Moor this weekend.
