Manchester City goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma spoke about how he ended up at the club after winning the Champions League with Paris Saint-Germain

Gianluigi Donnarumma knew Manchester City wanted to sign him before the Club World Cup - but was spurred on by Pep Guardiola's urging after it.
City completed a deal for the Italian shotstopper on deadline day despite signing James Trafford a month earlier, with Ederson heading to Galatasaray to mean sweeping changes in the goalkeeping department. He made his debut in the derby against United on Sunday, keeping a clean sheet in a 3-0 win.
There is plenty of intrigue across the game as to how Donnarumma will fit into Pep Guardiola's system, with him not at Ederson's level with his feet as he excels in stopping shots instead. However, he has been on the manager's radar for a long time and confirmed ahead of the start of the Champions League how he came to end up at City.
"Before summer I knew City were very interested in me. The relationship strengthened after the Club World Cup," he said.
"I knew the coach was pushing for my arrival and it spurred me on and it gave me so much pride. I really hope to give my all for City and this badge - such history here. The club wants to win, it has won in its history and tried to win. I am here for that and give my maximum.
"I was very clear. My desire was to come here, that was my first and only option. The only thing I wanted.
"I am not going to talk about the future. My only choice was to come here, the only one. I am happy to be here at City, happy to be a part of this fantastic team and family and give so much to these colours and badge. I hope to do it for many years to come."
