Chelsea make the trip to Wolves on Saturday attempting to bounce back following a 1-0 defeat against Arsenal on Tuesday, and Liam Rosenior will be without several key players

Chelsea will be without a number of players for Saturday's trip to Wolves. The Blues travel to Molineux looking to bounce back from Tuesday's 1-0 defeat against Arsenal in the Carabao Cup.

But Liam Rosenior won't be able to call on a fully-fit squad with several of his Chelsea stars unavailable for the fixture. As well as the long-term absentees, there are a couple of players who are facing a race against time to face Wolves.

Reece James, Pedro Neto and Jamie Gittens missed the defeat at Arsenal after sustaining injuries in the win against West Ham last weekend, while Filip Jorgensen and Tosin Adarabioyo are hoping to to be back for Wolves.

Reece James

Reece James missed Tuesday's Carabao Cup tie against Arsenal through injury. Rosenior confirmed pre-match that he suffered a 'small knock' during the 3-2 comeback win over West Ham.

When asked whether he - or Pedro Neto could feature against Wolves - Rosenior said on Thursday: "Don't know yet. Had training today, which was a recovery day for the lads who played a really tough physical game on Tuesday. We'll check with them tomorrow and then we'll make a decision then."

Potential return date: Saturday, February 7: Wolves (A).

Pedro Neto

Like James, Neto was absent for the trip to Arsenal after suffering a "small knock" against West Ham. "Don't know yet," Rosenior said, when asked if Neto and Rosenior could feature against Wolves.

Jamie Gittens

Jamie Gittens limped off during Chelsea's win against West Ham last Saturday. The 21-year-old was replaced in the 26th minute with Pedro Neto coming on in his absence.

Gittens missed Tuesday's 1-0 defeat at Arsenal in the Carabao Cup and now it has been revealed that he is expected to be out "long-term" with a significant hamstring injury.

"Jamie is looking a little bit more long-term," Rosenior said in his pre-Wolves press conference on Thursday. "He's got a tear in his hamstring, which is a real shame for him.

"Obviously, I've not worked with him for too long, I've known about his career and what an outstanding player he is, so that's going to be a big miss for us. It's too early to say (how long he will be out for)."

Potential return date: April.

Filip Jorgensen

Filip Jorgensen is closing in on a return to action for Chelsea after coming off at half-time against Pafos in the Champions League last month. Speaking on Monday, Rosenior said: "He's close to being fit and hopefully it will be either Arsenal or the game after."

Potential return date: Saturday, February 7 vs Wolves (A)

Tosin Adarabioyo

Tosin Adarabioyo hasn't featured since coming off in the 2-0 win against Brentford on Saturday, January 17. The former Fulham defender suffered a hamstring injury and there was hope that he could return to face Arsenal. He failed to recover in time to take on the Gunners but could be back for this weekend's clash against Wolves.

Romeo Lavia

Romeo Lavia hasn't played a single minute for Chelsea since November after suffering a thigh injury in the Champions League clash against Qarabag. However, the Belgian has since returned to training and is nearing the end of his rehabilitation, and could return to action by the end of the month.

Potential return date: Late February.
