Andrea Berta and Mikel Arteta have a number of Arsenal transfer decisions to make with a dream summer window on the cards seeing seven new signings made.
With a deal for Martin Zubimendi at the advanced stages back in February, football.london reported that the Gunners wanted to sign a back-up goalkeeper, defender, wide forward and striker. Kepa Arrizabalaga filled the former while a replacement for Jorginho has also been identified in Christian Norgaard.
Those two have since had moves from Chelsea and Brentford, respectively, confirmed. Despite only one priority position filled thus far, Berta has three deals on his to-do list in place to change that. The most advanced of those involves Noni Madueke after a deal totalling £52million was agreed last week.
The 23-year-old is now set to sign a five-year contract in north London with his medical set to take place on Monday and an official announcement to follow after that. Alongside reaching an agreement for Madueke, the Gunners have finally found a breakthrough in talks with Sporting CP for Viktor Gyokeres.
As per transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal will pay £55million (€63.5m) plus £8.7million (€10m) in add-ons after his agency, who arrived in London to finalise the move on Monday morning, agreed to reduce their commission fee.
If all goes well, that could be a second Gunners signing announced this week and in a dream scenario, another addition in a priority position has been agreed
Valencia's Cristhian Mosquera has been targeted by Arsenal over the last few weeks and though focus has been elsewhere, that deal is now believed to be at a very advanced stage. The Telegraph are now claiming Arsenal are set to sign him for a fee just below £15million, with a double swoop for Mosquera and Madueke totalling £67m.
Beyond that, another attacking signing being made remains entirely plausible with Real Madrid winger Rodrygo and Eberechi Eze of Crystal Palace as two concrete targets.
The latter's versatility to play centrally and out wide arguably makes him the most likely addition with the England international still being targeted after Madueke and Gyokeres.
His £68million release clause appears to make a deal rather easy to navigate but Arsenal would be looking to either pay less than that or over but using instalments. With three other deals now advancing, focus can soon turn onto Eze with hope there will be a breakthrough in negotiations soon.
Departures will also likely be on the agenda with Oleksandr Zinchenko, Jakub Kiwior, Reiss Nelson, Leandro Trossard and Fabio Vieira just a few that could move on should a reasonable offer be made.
