Harry Kane is being tipped for a potential transfer next summer, but Tottenham fans may be worried by what sources are saying about the move.
Tottenham Hotspur’s summer has seen the club focus on strengthening key areas of their squad, with a centre-back and two wingers already through the door, while a holding midfielder is also believed to be imminent.
There is still talk of a forward joining Thomas Frank’s squad this summer, and reports in recent weeks have linked Tottenham with several number nines.
Yoane Wissa is a player that Tottenham have shown interest in this summer, while Rodrigo Muniz, who is on relatively low wages at Fulham, has also been linked with a move to Hotspur Way.
Kane return to Premier League is on the cards
Now, fresh reports from The Telegraph claim that former Tottenham striker Harry Kane could soon find himself back at the centre of English footballing discourse, as a potential return to the Premier League in the summer of 2026 has not been ruled out.
The outlet suggests that while Kane remains a central figure at Bayern Munich for now, sources believe that next summer could be a decisive moment in his career.
It is well-known that there is a release clause in Kane’s current contract at Bayern which decreases in value each year. With his deal running through the 2026 World Cup, rumours have already begun to suggest that a move back to England may be on the cards.
Manchester United could beat Tottenham to Harry Kane
Tottenham are believed to have secured a first-option clause when they sold Kane to Bayern last summer, although this clause would only come into play if the German giants choose to sell and Kane himself expresses a desire to return to Spurs.
While Tottenham’s first-option clause would give them priority in talks, there is no set fee attached, meaning any potential deal would still hinge on either triggering Kane’s release clause or thrashing out a fresh agreement with Bayern Munich.
Despite that potential advantage, sources close to the situation believe that Manchester United continue to view Kane as a long-term target. Unfortunately for Spurs fans, the Red Devils are tipped as the ‘most likely destination’ should Bayern agree to part ways with the England international next summer.
