Harry Kane signs, Savinho transfer - Tottenham dream attack after Thomas Frank admission

1 hour ago 1

Thomas Frank has confirmed that he would welcome Harry Kane back in a Tottenham shirt. Kane, 32, left Spurs in August 2023 to sign for Bayern Munich in a deal worth around £86million and he has since become a fan favourite at the Allianz Arena, scoring a whopping 98 goals in 103 appearances.

Kane helped Bayern win the Bundesliga title for the 33rd time last season, finishing as the division's top scorer for the second straight campaign. The former Tottenham forward has made an electric start to 2025/26, finding the net 13 times in just seven matches across all competitions.

However, should he want to leave, Kane can activate his own exit from Bayern next summer. Indeed, Kane is believed to have a £56.7m release clause in his contract, though he has to inform the German club of his desire to depart before the end of January for the get-out agreement to become active.

Tottenham have the first option to re-sign Kane after former chairman Daniel Levy confirmed after his sale two years ago that a buy-back clause had been inserted into his Bayern contract.

Speaking ahead of Tottenham's Carabao Cup tie against Doncaster Rovers on Tuesday, Frank admitted he would like to see Kane back in a Spurs shirt in the future. "I think there's a lot of Tottenham fans including myself who would like to see Kane back," Frank said in his pre-match press conference. "He's a top player.

"Personally, I don't think he will do it right now, if I'm honest, he'll probably stay in Bayern and continue performing well. He was top scorer last year and won the championship, he’s doing fantastic now.

I don’t know what he's thinking. Myself, I'm a traveller, I like to travel, I like to explore things as well. He’s been here for many years so why not enjoy the time at Bayern a little bit more.

"But he’s welcome. If he wants to join us, he's more than welcome."

He added: "I didn’t know there was a clause. I see two things, one he is an unbelievable player who did fantastically for Spurs and is doing fantastically for Bayern. Top player."

Should Tottenham convince Kane to return to north London next summer, he would spearhead the club's attack in a new-look dream front three for Frank. Although Dominic Solanke is Spurs' record signing following his £65m move from Bournemouth in 2024, Kane would no doubt displace him as the new No.9.

Kane hasn't scored less than 24 goals in each of his last 11 full seasons in his career and he would bring back a complete new dimension that Spurs haven't had since his departure back in 2023.

Richarlison has made an impressive start to the season, scoring three times and adding one assist in five Premier League matches, but he isn't starting above Kane in Frank's dream Tottenham XI.

Moving out wide and Mohammed Kudus is one of THE first names on the teamsheet at the moment. The Ghana international has made an impressive start to life at Tottenham following his summer move to West Ham, providing four assists in his six appearances for the club.

Kudus started on the right-hand side in Tottenham's last game against Brighton and it's a position where he could make his own in the coming months, despite competition from Brennan Johnson and then Dejan Kulusevski, who is expected to return in late October following a long lay-off.

But Kudus has got the shirt right now and it does feel as though he is Frank's first-choice pick for that area. He has the potential to become a cult hero in N17 should he continue to impress.

Mohammed Kudus

Looking at the other side, Frank has a huge dilemma to figure out. It's clear that Tottenham wanted to sign a left winger before the end of the summer transfer window, after losing Son Heung-min to LAFC.

They tried to sign Savinho, but Manchester City blocked the move and he ended up staying at the Etihad Stadium. Despite this, Spurs should attempt to lure the Brazilian to north London once again next summer.

Although the 21-year-old hasn't ripped it up since his move to City from Troyes in 2024, there is no doubt he is a talented footballer and can become a real showstopper in the future.

Spurs are reported to be considering a January swoop for Savinho and it's a move the club should do, as the left-hand side position is one of their weakest at the moment, it's safe to say.

Wilson Odobert started there against Brighton, and although he showed glimpses and has great potential, Tottenham could upgrade and Savinho is someone that would do just that.

Xavi Simons, a £51m addition from RB Leipzig, would move down into the midfield three alongside two of Lucas Bergvall, Archie Gray, Rodrigo Bentancur, Pape Matar Sarr, Joao Palhinha and James Maddison.
