Harry Redknapp names the trophy Tottenham could win this season under Thomas Frank

Harry Redknapp believes that Tottenham Hotspur will have a great season under Thomas Frank and win a major trophy for the second campaign running.

In some respects, Frank is walking into a difficult situation as he is taking over a man who delivered a major European trophy to Tottenham.

However, in another respect, the Dane could not arrive at N17 at a better time, as expectations are as low as they have ever been for the last two decades in the Premier League, with Spurs coming off a 17th-place finish.

Frank has set his main objective as competing in all four competitions, with the former Brentford boss pointing out that the Lilywhites have not done so since 2019.

Thomas Frank backed to deliver a major trophy to Tottenham

Tottenham are not featuring in the top-six predictions of many pundits, and it is not difficult to understand why, given how poor they were last season and how much some of their rivals have strengthened this summer.

However, Redknapp believes that the Dane will take Spurs to a top-six finish this season and predicted that he will deliver the Carabao Cup.

The former Tottenham manager told BetVictor: “I like Thomas Frank, he needs good players and they’ve got a lot of good players. I think Tottenham will do okay this year. I think Tottenham could finish in the top six.

“I like the look of them. They look decent and have made a couple of signings. Keeping everybody fit is the key this year for them. I know they’ve lost James Maddison, which is an early blow, but they brought in Joao Palhinha from Bayern Munich, so I think they’ll do fine.

“I think they’ll be strong this year, Tottenham, they’ll do well in the league, and maybe win the Carabao Cup or whatever might be on the agenda for them. It’s a great club, a big club, and I think they’ll have a good season.”

Daniel Levy has set his sights on the biggest prizes

The Tottenham hierarchy have often been accused of not being ambitious enough, but following the appointment of Frank, Daniel Levy said that he wants Spurs to eventually win the Premier League and the Champions League.

Thomas Frank has remarked that he shares Levy’s ambition, but the new Spurs boss acknowledged that the likes of Liverpool, Man City and Arsenal are ahead of his side at the moment.

One thing is for sure: for the new Tottenham head coach to have a realistic chance of achieving something special this season, the North Londoners need to have a strong end to the transfer window.
