Arsenal were handed a boost this week after Kai Havertz was pictured on the grass at London Colney ahead of the Carabao Cup tie against Crystal Palace. Although the match may come too soon for the German international, there have been positive signs that a return may be near.
After making a brief appearance on the opening day of the season against Manchester United, Havertz suffered a knee injury that required a minor procedure. He had been expected to return in late November or early December, but has remained sidelined throughout this period.
On Monday, Arsenal posted an update on X (formerly Twitter) of Havertz undergoing gym work. The caption read: "Step by step."
However, he's not the only player currently sidelined ahead of Arsenal’s Cup clash with Palace.
With that game set to come too early for the players sidelined, football.london takes a look at the latest Arsenal injury news and return dates ahead of the Carabao Cup tie vs Palace, before the return to Premier League action against Brighton on December 27.
Ben White
Injury: Thigh.
What Arteta said: "Yeah, he's out, he's evolving well, it's not a major injury, but it will keep him out for a few games, I think. I don't think it's going to be [his hamstring] and Ben is a really fast healer as well so there's hope that we're going to have him in the next few games."
Possible return date: Early 2026.
Kai Havertz
Injury: Knee.
The Germany international has missed the last four months with a setback, but was pictured on the grass on London Colney ahead of the Carabao Cup tie against Crystal Palace.
What Arteta said: "He's progressing really well and quite fast in the last few weeks. We are really positive that if everything continues like that in the next training sessions, he's going to be with us. I do [have a game in mind]. I don't want to say because, again, I think in that last part of, especially after such a long time, that after the rehab, I think we need to be cautious and we need to go really firmly with every step that we take along the way to make sure that when he's back, he's back and he's back for the long term."
Possible return date: December/January 2026.
Gabriel Magalhaes
Injury: Hamstring.
What Arteta said: "He's pushing hard as he always does every time he's out and he's evolving really well, he's doing pitch sessions so he's not too far, we have to see in the last stages of that rehab how he progresses but we are quite positive about him."
Possible return date: Early 2026.
Cristhian Mosquera
Injury: Ankle.
What Arteta said: "He's going to be out for weeks. Unfortunately, it's much more than what we expected. But the player was feeling it, so he's going to be out for weeks."
Possible return date: January 2026.
Max Dowman
Injury: Ankle ligament.
The 15‑year‑old prospect suffered an ankle ligament injury during a behind‑closed‑doors friendly against Arsenal's Under‑21s in early December.
What Arteta said: "Max picked up an injury last weekend and had to come off. So he did some scans, and he is going to be out for weeks."
Possible return date: Unknown.
