Everything you need to know about the games Guglielmo Vicario will miss, as the Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper undergoes surgery on a hernia...

  1. Vicario to have surgery: Taking to X on Friday, Spurs wrote: "We can confirm that Guglielmo Vicario will undergo surgery next week on a hernia. The minor procedure for the Italy international goalkeeper has been timed to have as minimal impact on our season as possible." Read the full story here.
  2. Hopes for a return within a month: Spurs added: "Guglielmo will commence his rehabilitation with our medical staff immediately, and it is hoped that he could return to action within the next month."
  3. How long could Vicario actually be out: While Spurs are hopeful that Vicario will be able to feature for the club in April, the NHS suggests that the recovery period for hernia surgery could be between four to six weeks. The latter timeframe would see the goalkeeper return in May instead.
  4. Will Vicario play this weekend: Despite being booked in for surgery, Vicario will still be available for selection for this weekend's game against Nottingham Forest at home. It is believes that the Italian has been playing through the pain barrier for a number of weeks.
  5. Which games will Vicario miss: As a result of the March international break, Vicario may miss just two matches for his relegation-battling club. It is almost certain that he will be absent from April 12's trip to the Stadium of Light, as well as the game against Brighton at home on April 18.
  6. Vicario to return against Wolves: At present, it appears as though Vicario is expected to return to the field against Wolves at Molineux come April 25. That is if his recovery ultimately goes to plan without issue.
  7. Antonin Kinsky given major chance: The 23-year-old will have a shot at redemption for Spurs' games against Sunderland and Brighton as a result of Vicario's absence, having been subbed off just 18 minutes into the Lilywhites' Champions League clash with Atletico Madrid earlier this month. The decision followed a series of high-profile errors that contributed to a 5-2 loss in the Spanish capital.
