How much Tottenham spent on 2025/26 agent fees compared to Premier League rivals

How much Tottenham Hotspur have spent on agent fees over the last 12 months, and how the figure compares to their Premier League rivals.

Tottenham’s financial results for the year ending June 2025 were released earlier this week, and there were some concerning signs.

While the club’s total revenue had increased by 7 per cent from the previous year, the Profit from Operations had dropped significantly, while the club’s Loss after Tax had increased to £94.7m.

Tottenham’s cash flow problem is not new, but it is something that the club would be keen to get a handle on.

Tottenham do not spend much on agent fees compared to their rivals

Spurs’ main financial issue comes from their extremely high transfer debt, which is the money they owe to other clubs for the players they have signed.

However, it has now been revealed by journalist Ben Jacobs that despite the North London club’s relatively high transfer spending, they are in the middle of the pack when it comes to agent fees.

Spurs have paid around £21m in commissions to agents from February of 2025 to 2026, which is considerably lower than some of their rivals.

Chelsea have comfortably spent the highest on agent fees during that time, with the Blues paying a whopping £65m to agents over the past 12 months.

ClubAgent fees
Chelsea£65m
Man City£37m
Liverpool£34m
Arsenal£32m
Man United£32m
Tottenham£21m

Spurs’ owners will have to put their hands in their pockets

Reacting to Tottenham’s latest financial statement, Football finance expert Stefan Borsen suggested that the club’s huge debt is not a big issue since it is long-term borrowing at low interest.

However, Borsen has warned that the Spurs owners have no choice but to inject more money into the club, given the cash flow problems at N17.

Reports indicate that Tottenham are plotting an ambitious summer rebuild of their squad, and this would undoubtedly require a further injection of cash from the Lewis family.
