Arsenal will be aiming to avoid a major upset in the FA Cup later as its hosts League One side Wigan Athletic in the fourth round.

Mikel Arteta's side is still in the hunt for four trophies this season, and the Gunners' boss can go another step closer to repeating his 2020 cup triumph as they look to book their place in Monday's fifth-round draw.

The hosts will of course be huge favorites, with Wigan sitting in the relegation zone in its division and facing dropping into League Two next season. Having fired manager Ryan Lowe last week, the visitors could use a distraction right now, and what a feat it would be to beat the current Premier League leaders.

Early team news

Kai Havertz is back on the sidelines after picking up a muscular injury, with the forward looking set to miss the next couple of weeks at least.

William Saliba though could return after missing the midweek trip to Brentford through illness. The defender did train ahead of that game, but was deemed not fit enough to take part.

Martin Odegaard appeared to take a blow to his knee against the Bees, and may well be rested today. Elsewhere, Mikel Merino remains out after undergoing surgery on his foot, while Max Dowman has been back in training after an ankle problem.

As for the visitors, Wigan could be without James Carragher, son of Liverpool legend Jamie, with the defender having missed back-to-back games after picking up a knock.

Forward Harry McHugh is also set to remain out, but midfielder Baba Adeeko and left-back Luke Robinson are both expected to be back in contention.
