England returns to World Cup qualifying action on Saturday, eager to build some momentum after a lacklustre start to Thomas Tuchel’s reign.
Despite winning all three competitive matches thus far, England has underwhelmed in the wins over Albania, Latvia, and Andorra, with a dearth of attacking flair and creativity posing a major problem. The Three Lions also lost a friendly against Senegal in their last outing, and were beaten 3-1 in Nottingham.
With the World Cup less than a year away, Tuchel will hope for an improved performance against Andorra on Saturday. The game takes place at Villa Park, but sadly does not include any Liverpool representatives after Curtis Jones was overlooked from the squad.
Tuchel made several interesting calls for his latest squad, such as omitting Trent Alexander-Arnold and Phil Foden, and admitted he wants to work with a tighter group this time around.
Below are all the pre-match details on how to watch the England clash.
What time is kick-off?
The match begins at 5pm in the UK (12pm ET and 9am PT). Saturday’s other game from Group K, Latvia vs. Serbia, kicks off three hours earlier.
Is the game on TV?
Yes, it can be viewed in the UK on ITV, or streamed via ITV X. In the US, the match will be shown on FOX Sports and Deportes 3. It can be streamed on FS2, ViX, and fuboTV.
Team news
John Stones dropped out of the England squad earlier this week, with Tuchel citing muscular problems behind the Manchester City defender’s withdrawal.
He follows Adam Wharton, who was also forced to pull out due to a groin issue. They have been replaced in the squad by ex-Liverpool center-back Jarell Quansah and AC Milan midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek.
"We have top players and we will find the right pairing. We will need to be flexible because anything can happen, someone can be injured," Tuchel said ahead of the game.
"It can also feel a little bit like chewing gum to break a block down like this but in general we have to play with more energy.
"We have to play with more enthusiasm and so far I’m pretty sure that we will.
"It comes down again to does the group have the right energy together? We will not do it backwards and manage a more difficult away game [on Tuesday] than a home game. We will not start getting caught up in experiments."
