Liverpool returns to action after the international break with a huge clash at Manchester City. At the start of a massive week for Arne Slot, the Reds could really do with a strong performance.

Mohamed Salah will be playing for the first time since he announced that he would be leaving Anfield in the summer and this competition is one of only two remaining that the Egyptian could win before his exit.

The other, of course, is the Champions League. Liverpool plays PSG in Paris only a few days after this game, with a visit of Fulham between those two glamor ties that could be crucial in the race for a top five finish.

In the UK, the game will be shown live on HBO Max and TNT Sports 1, as well as being available to stream via their services. In the US, the match will be screened by ESPN. The referee is Michael Oliver.

Alexander Isak could return for Liverpool after just over 100 days out with a broken leg. Jeremie Frimpong, meanwhile, is expected to be available despite limping off for the Netherlands on Tuesday.

Alisson Becker will miss a number of games, though Arne Slot expects him to play again before the end of the season. Giorgi Mamardashvili will step in to deputize.

"He will not be part of the PSG games as well; he will be out for a little bit longer," Slot said in his pre-match press conference ahead of the trip to the Etihad Stadium.

"Towards the end of the season, we expect him to be fit."

Elsewhere, Conor Bradley, Wataru Endo and Giovanni Leoni are all still missing, though reports in Italy this week suggested that the latter is making good progress in his recovery.

For Manchester City, Josko Gvardiol is set to be missing. John Stones is still out, while Ruben Dias is a doubt for Pep Guardiola's men.

The Catalan was in a good mood as he previewed the clash, though, refusing to be drawn on his own future, but paying tribute to the departing Salah.

"One of the greatest," Guardiola said. "The numbers, the consistency... What a player. Incredible human being. Goals, assists... Absolute legend for Liverpool, and the Premier League, for all he has done.

"I think it’s a good moment to say goodbye to him in this country tomorrow. He deserves incredible recognition for what he has given to world football."
