Manchester United's quest for Champions League soccer continues on Wednesday, as the Red Devils travel to Newcastle.
Man Utd headed into the midweek Premier League games third in the table, six points ahead of Chelsea in sixth. A top-five finish should be enough to secure Champions League soccer for next term, thanks to England being top of UEFA's "season association coefficients" table; the top two nations will be awarded an additional Champions League spot.
At one stage, it seemed unlikely that Man Utd would qualify for the Champions League. Yet the Red Devils have turned a corner since Michael Carrick became their interim manager, winning six of their last seven Premier League games. Here, Liverpool.com tells you everything you need to know about Man Utd's game against Newcastle on Wednesday.

Newcastle: Nick Woltemade is expected to miss Wednesday's game through illness. Jacob Ramsey has also been dealing with sickness, which led to him being substituted against Everton at the weekend, but he's made a speedy recovery.

"Jacob Ramsey was in yesterday, trained fine, so a quick recovery from him," said Newcastle boss Eddie Howe on Tuesday.
"There's an illness, potentially, in the squad because Nick Woltemade has gone down ill and we haven't seen him for a couple of days, but we will give him every chance for tomorrow."
Emil Krafth, Lewis Miley, Fabian Schar, Bruno Guimaraes and Tino Livramento will all miss the game due to injury. Of those five players, Livramento is expected to be the first to return to action.
"Tino Livramento is getting closer and closer," added Howe. "This game possibly comes too soon for him. We are desperate for him to become available."

Man Utd: Both Luke Shaw and Harry Maguire were forced out of Man Utd's victory against Crystal Palace at the weekend. Carrick has confirmed that neither defender has picked up an injury, but they are struggling with illness.
"Still got a bit of time to the game, and we'll just have to see how they feel," Carrick told reporters on Tuesday.
"So we'll give them every chance. We’re working toward it. They weren’t feeling too good, we’ve still got a bit of time to the game, so we’ll see how they feel. It wasn’t injury; both weren’t feeling too good, so it’s one of those things, really. We’ll see how they are."
Carrick will definitely be without Matthijs de Ligt, Mason Mount, Lisandro Martinez and Patrick Dorgu due to injury.
