Arsenal will be aiming to avoid a major FA Cup upset today as it begins the road to Wembley at Portsmouth in the third round.

We've already seen a couple of shocks this weekend, with Nottingham Forest being knocked out by Wrexham on Friday before non-league Macclesfield humiliated the holders Crystal Palace on Saturday.

Mikel Arteta will be hoping his side doesn't become the latest big team to exit the competition later as they face their Championship opponent, who will be aiming to put their relegation battle to one side and send one of the favorites for the cup packing.

Early team news

Arsenal faces a major doubt over Piero Hincapie’s fitness after the defender limped off early on in the second half against Liverpool on Thursday.

Riccardo Calafiori looks as though he could miss out again, while Cristhian Mosquera remains out with an ankle injury.

Arteta is likely to ring the changes with his side, with the likes of Kepa Arrizabalaga, Christian Norgaard, Gabriel Jesus and Ethan Nwaneri likely to come into the Arsenal boss’ thinking.

As for Portsmouth, the hosts will be without Tottenham loanee Yang Min-Hyeok after he was recalled last week before being sent out to Coventry.

Pompey could be without as many as 10 first-team players, with forward Colby Bishop a doubt, while Florian Bianchina, Josh Knight, Mark Kosznovszky, Callum Lang, Josh Murphy, Connor Ogilvie, Marlon Pack, Thomas Waddingham and Hayden Matthews all on the injury list.
