Liverpool has come a long way in the period that Fenway Sports Group (FSG) have been at the helm. But a few months before the start of the US group's tenure, things looked very different in the transfer market.
In the summer just gone, Liverpool splashed out around $500M to bring in the likes of Florian Wirtz, Alexander Isak and Hugo Ekitike. But in 2010, Roy Hodgson was in charge and plotting to raid Fulham.
The Reds signed Raul Meireles, Paul Konchesky and Christian Poulsen that summer, spending a grand total of $35 million (£26 million). And Hodgson was also hoping to sign Bobby Zamora, who later joined QPR and then Brighton.
"They bid for me, £10M ($13M), the same as Spurs as well," Zamora said on the Beast Mode On podcast with Adebayo Akinfenwa.
"Harry Redknapp was there at Spurs and they both bid £10M for me. I had my daughters, and two weeks later, the bids came in.
"It was a really good squad, Europa League final, everyone is happy where I was, and I’d just had my twins, I had nobody up north in Liverpool.
"That is my genuine regret in football. I have two, but that is one, that I didn’t just go to Liverpool and sign for five years there... stupid."
Zamora ended his career with 47 goals in his 252 appearances in the Premier League, also representing Brighton and West Ham.
"The end of the transfer window was coming and they both bid, I ended up signing a new contract and broke my leg the next day," Zamora had revealed a couple of years ago.
"We had Mark Hughes at Fulham at the time. I enjoyed my time with Mark, he came at the start of the season, I had a good pre-season with him."

Hodgson had taken the reins at Anfield after guiding Fulham to the Europa League final. That season, Zamora scored 19 times in all competitions.
Zamora added: "When I played for England, my first game against Hungary, I get in the lift with my best pal and Stevie G, and Stevie G goes, 'Mate, f***ing brilliant today, well done. Would you come to Liverpool?'.
"I was like, 'Yeah, yeah, yeah' … so he said, 'I'll speak to Roy'. But I'd just had my girls. Mark Hughes was like, 'You're going to be my key man, I need you, we'll give you new a deal.' I don't know why, but I said, 'Yeah OK'.
"But yeah, I probably should have gone to Liverpool. Regardless of the fact Roy didn't do great there. I should have got five years at Liverpool. You can't hit a few branches coming down from there."
