Transfer speculation surrounding Jack Grealish has been strife this summer and it's only heated up after it was confirmed the Manchester City star has now left the UK

Jack Grealish's suspected transfer exit from Manchester City this summer has taken on momentum after the England star left the UK.

Grealish endured a hugely disappointing season with the Citizens, where he scored just three goals across all competitions while contributing just five assists. He provided only two contributions in the Premier League, with Pep Guardiola preferring the likes of Jeremy Doku and Savinho to the 29-year-old.

His bit-part role last season - which was his first campaign in Manchester without silverware - coupled with his exclusion from City's FIFA Club World Cup squad last month has resulted in many believing the Englishman is set to leave the club this summer after four seasons.

While a return to Aston Villa was touted for Grealish, who was also subject to reported interest from Newcastle in the Premier League, a move to reunite with Kevin De Bruyne at Napoli has also been discussed.

The City legend ended his 10-year association with the club this summer and opted to join the Italian giants, who are fresh off winning their second Serie A title in three seasons, on a two-year deal.

While no official talks were said to be in motion to bring Grealish to Italy, the potential deal has reportedly been held up by his high wages, with City having to subsidise part of his pay packet in order for the move to develop.

However, speculation on the transfer caught speed after it was revealed that winger left the UK earlier this week and arrived in Naples. After landing at Capodichino airport, he was then transported to the Amalfi Coast as his driver, Salvatore, spilled the details on 'Radio Goal' on his encounter with Grealish.

"Grealish is still on the Amalfi Coast; I took him there," he said. "I can’t tell you where he’s training, but yes, he’s here. I took him this morning; he’s been here for two or three days now. Maybe he has some contact with Napoli.

"I picked him up at the airport, took him to the coast, and this morning he did his first training session. I can’t ask him anything; he’s on holiday and maybe some questions would bother him."

Grealish's lack of minutes throughout last season was previously explained by Guardiola after rumours began to swirl that it was down to off-the-pitch matters, which the City boss quickly put to bed.

He said: "The only reason he didn't play minutes was me, not because he was incorrect or whatever. He's a top player, but the players have to compete with each other, and last season Doku was incredible in many games and Savinho made the step up for his first season."
