Igor Tudor can resurrect Tottenham star's career if named next Spurs manager

Igor Tudor is reportedly close to being appointed as Tottenham Hotspur head coach and could help galvanise the career of one player

Tottenham Hotspur could have a new manager at the helm in the next few days, and the appointment could provide a welcome boost to one member of their squad.

Following Thomas Frank’s departure earlier this week, Spurs have been looking for a new head coach to take charge at least until the end of the season.

Reports emerged on Friday claiming that Igor Tudor is on the verge of being appointed as Tottenham’s new head coach.

football.london understands that the club are looking to confirm an appointment by Monday on an interim basis until the end of the season, and there will not be the option to make the job permanent in the summer - though the chosen candidate will have the chance to put their case forward for the role.

Tudor has experience working in management in Italy with his time at Lazio, Hellas Verona, Juventus and Udinese, as well as a spell at Marseille.

Juventus was Tudor’s last job in management, which he held until his departure in October last year. The 47-year-old replaced Thiago Motta towards the end of last season, but was only in the job for seven months before his departure.

It was during Tudor’s time at Juventus that he worked alongside Randal Kolo Muani, who is currently on loan at Tottenham from Paris Saint-Germain.

Kolo Muani was on loan at Juventus last season and scored five goals across 11 appearances during Tudor’s time at the club.

Three goals were scored in Serie A, while two came in the FIFA Club World Cup last summer.

Since joining Tottenham, Kolo Muani has scored just three goals across 27 appearances, with such form leading to speculation of a potential move away during the January transfer window.

If Tottenham do go on to appoint Tudor as manager until the end of the season, they will be hoping that the coach can help Kolo Muani enjoy similar form to what the striker enjoyed when the pair were at Juventus.
