Igor Tudor refuses to share why Tottenham’s ‘problems’ are bigger than he faced at Juventus

Igor Tudor has made an admission about the challenges he faces at Tottenham Hotspur compared to those he faced at Juventus.

The Croatian has a proven record of going into clubs in crisis mid-season and transforming the side almost instantly.

In fact, Johan Lange revealed Tudor’s ability to make an immediate impact is why he was the perfect fit for Spurs at this time.

However, the 47-year-old has not managed to do that so far at N17, having lost both of his two games in charge.

Tudor cannot compare his time at Juventus to Spurs job

The interim Tottenham boss is no stranger to the pressures of managing a big club, having had a short stint with Juventus last year.

Tudor has now admitted that the problems at Spurs are ‘bigger’ than what he found when he took over in Turin.

When asked to compare the two situations, Tudor told Football.London: “It’s impossible to compare because every situation is very different. Impossible. The problems are totally different. At Juventus, there were 20 players for all these positions. Here, you come you have 12 players. There you fight for the Champions League. Here, you fight for relegation. That’s a start.

“Then you go player by player, and there are big differences everywhere. It’s not like you go and do the job in the same way and have the same results. It’s impossible because the level of difficulty is always different. There is no copy in anything, it’s a different team, different league, different position, different players.

“The same coach can start the season with different teams and will do totally different things… doing the same things in different teams… even the way you see the team. It’s impossible to compare. You can only compare the levels of difficulty. Where are the biggest problems? For me, this problem of Tottenham is bigger. How big is the challenge, how big is the problem in the clubs, I can tell you. There are no mathematics but what I feel, what I can see, this problem is bigger.”

Tudor has previously acknowledged that Tottenham are struggling in all aspects of their play, but he has now refused to publicly diagnose the main reasons for their struggles.

When he was initially asked what the problems at Spurs are, he simply batted it away with: “Next question.”

Tudor was then pushed on it to share the issues at the club, and he said: “I cannot come here and discuss like we are in the bar. I already explained what I can tell you, what I want to tell you. Don’t expect details about what, because it’s not correct from your side and this is no place to speak in that way.”
