Ibrahima Konaté’s future at Liverpool is up in the air, with PSG linked to the defender. Moreover, Konaté is in the final months of his contract as he’s set to become a free agent in June.
Liverpool has yet to secure him on a new deal, fueling transfer speculation. From January 1, Konaté will be able to discuss a pre-contract with other clubs.
Foot Mercato reported that several top European teams, including PSG, Real Madrid, and Barcelona, have been keeping tabs on him. However, as the months have gone by, there’s no clear team taking the lead on the Frenchman.
Ibrahima Konaté Gets Huge Update on Liverpool Future
The Athletic’s David Ornstein shared the latest on the Liverpool defender, and it appears the player will test the market as a free agent.
“Ibrahima Konaté is on track to exit due to his contract expiring,” Ornstein wrote. “There has been no breakthrough on new terms.”
If the Parisians want to revisit this reported interest, then it seems that Konaté will be there. However, the question is whether the Ligue 1 side want to meet the wage demands of the Liverpool standout.

This month, on an episode of After Foot, pundit Kevin Diaz stated that PSG need to ensure that they land Konaté.
“If I were a PSG supporter, I’d really like to see Konaté or Upamecano at PSG,” Diaz said (h/t Le10Sport). “That would be very good alongside Pacho. A French player, an international, a guy from the Paris region.
“Konaté has done some good things with Liverpool and would be a solid pickup, even if form has dipped a bit in recent months. Upamecano, on the other hand, is really at the top of his game right now.”
