PSG continue to invest in younger options at center-back, highlighted by Illia Zabarnyi’s arrival during the summer window. Even so, the club may face obstacles in pursuing a defender they previously targeted, despite the strong impression Willian Pacho has already made.
Foot Mercato noted last May that Club Brugge defender Joel Ordóñez had caught PSG’s eye. The outlet added that Luis Campos and his recruitment staff have tracked the Ecuadorian international closely, watching him multiple times before deciding whether to move forward.
Club Brugge are believed to rate Ordóñez in the €25 million to €30 million range, and the report pointed out that Premier League teams have shown interest as well. Although nothing has progressed to this stage, several clubs are expected to revisit the situation and keep following his development.
Inter Milan Eye Young Defender on Parisians’ Radar

Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Inter Milan have their eye on Ordonez. The challenge is that he signed an extension through 2029 last September, which means any deal will require a significant fee.
Nonetheless, the Italian side aren’t the only club keen on the player. Recently, Football Insider’s Pete O’Rourke reported that Newcastle are aiming to edge out Liverpool and Aston Villa in the race to sign the Ecuadorian centre-back.
The challenge lies in the player’s current contract situation. O’Rourke notes that Brugge hold the upper hand in negotiations, able to demand top value if they decide to part ways with Ordóñez.

“Liverpool, obviously we know about their defensive issues. He’s been linked to Aston Villa who are also admirers of him and Newcastle as well have been keeping tabs on the Ecuador international’s situation.
“He’s done very well for Club Brugge, playing in the Champions League, playing at the highest level and has been outstanding for Ecuador in their successful qualification to the World Cup.
“There was obviously speculation around his future in the summer, but Brugge managed to keep hold of him and tied him down to a new contract in September that runs until 2029.”
