Manchester City are scheduled to play Chelsea at the Etihad Stadium in the Premier League on Sunday evening, but the Met Office has issued a weather warning.
Manchester City's clash against Chelsea is still expected to go ahead, as things stand, despite wintry conditions which have swept across the UK this weekend. City will host the Londoners at the Etihad Stadium as they aim to close the gap on table-toppers Arsenal.
Pep Guardiola's star-studded side dropped to third in the Premier League table on Saturday after Aston Villa's 3-1 win over Nottingham Forest.
Arsenal's win over Bournemouth on the same day saw them extend their lead at the top of the table to six points ahead of Villa, while they are now seven points ahead of City - who will take on Chelsea in their game-in-hand this weekend.
On the pitch, City will be determined to return to winning ways having been forced to settle for a point in their goalless draw with Sunderland on Thursday night, a result which has seen them fall further behind Arsenal in the title race at near to the midway point.
However, there have been some concerns about whether or not match will be postponed this weekend due to heavy snowfall and frosty conditions across the UK. No Premier League matches were called off on Saturday, but there were some postponements in the National League.
On Sunday, there have already been some matches postponed in the EFL, including games in the Championship and League One. The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for snow and ice in Greater Manchester for Sunday, which could potentially have an impact on City's match.
"Very cold and frosty to start, then a largely dry morning with plenty of sunshine," the Met Office states.
"Sleet and snow showers arriving for some by this afternoon, these perhaps turning heavy in the south of the region, giving some local travel disruption. Maximum temperature 3 °C."
