Chelsea have had another boost in their hopes of finishing in the Champions League places at the end of the season, with a 3-1 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux.

The Blues raced into a 3-0 lead over the bottom club in the first half, thanks to a hat-trick from Cole Palmer. The first two goals came from the penalty spot, and he added a third before the break.

Despite Wolves getting a goal back in the second half, it was a comfortable win for Liam Rosenior's side. With fixtures coming thick and fast, eyes will now turn to midweek fixtures.

Chelsea are back in action on Tuesday night when they host Leeds United at Stamford Bridge (7.30pm kick-off). Daniel Farke's side recorded a 3-1 win over Nottingham Forest on Friday night in a boost to their own ambitions of securing safety.

Following the win over Wolves, and ahead of the clash against Leeds, Rosenior has given an update on the fitness of his squad , with good news over club captain Reece James. With that in mind, here’s a look at the latest from the treatment room at Cobham.

Reece James

Injury: Knock

The full-back has missed the last two games with a knock, but looks set to make his return soon.

What Rosenior has said: "He's so close. He should be fit for Tuesday. It's not a major problem at all. It's a knock. Pain management issue. He was out running yesterday."

Potential return date: Vs Leeds (H) - Tues 10 Feb

Andrey Santos

Injury: Unknown

The midfielder received treatment in the second half of the clash against Wolves before being replaced by Jorrel Hato. The problem doesn’t seem too serious with Rosenior not giving an update in his post-match press conference.

Potential return date: Vs Leeds (H) - Tues 10 Feb

Romeo Lavia

Injury: Thigh

He has not played since November since suffering an injury in the Champions League clash vs Qarabag, but is now closing in on a return.

What Rosenior has said: “Romeo is in a really good place, and we just have to make sure this last stage of his rehab is really, really good."

Potential return date: Late February

Jamie Gittens

Injury: Hamstring

The winger suffered the injury against West Ham, and has since missed the last two games with what is a significant injury.

What Rosenior has said: "Jamie is looking a little bit more long-term. He's got a tear in his hamstring, which is a real shame for him.

"Obviously, I've not worked with him for too long, I've known about his career and what an outstanding player he is, so that's going to be a big miss for us. It's too early to say (how long he will be out for)."

Filip Jorgensen

Injury: Unknown

The goalkeeper is closing in on a return after suffering the injury during Chelsea’s Champions League clash against Pafos last month, but was left out of the squad for the clash against Wolves.

What Rosenior has said: “He's close to being fit and hopefully it will be either Arsenal or the game after."

Potential return date: Vs Leeds (H) - Tues 10 Feb

Tosin Adarabioyo

Injury: Hamstring

The defender suffered the injury in the win over Brentford back in January. He’s closing in on a return, but was not included in the squad to take on Wolves.

Potential return date: Vs Leeds (H) - Tues 10 Feb

Dario Essugo

Injury: Thigh

He suffered a setback in his recovery from injury after slipping in training.

Potential return date: March

Levi Colwill

Injury: Knee

The defender has been out since August after suffering an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) rupture in pre-season. He faces a race against time to be back before the end of the season.

What Rosenior has said: “It’s step by step, and I don’t want to make promises that I can’t keep. At the moment, Levi is in a really good place. He’s on the right track, but I don’t want to put pressure on him. It's been brilliant to see him back on the pitch running. He is itching to get back, but we need to make sure he feels 100 per cent perfect.”

Potential return date: May
