Jamie Carragher can't resist Mohamed Salah reply in fresh message to Liverpool teammates

Jamie Carragher has hinted that he wants Liverpool to win on Tuesday even more than he usually does due to the ongoing Mohamed Salah saga.

Salah has been omitted from the Liverpool squad for the Champions League game against Inter Milan following the remarks he made in the Elland Road mixed zone on Saturday. Salah claimed that he no longer has a relationship with Liverpool head coach Arne Slot, while suggesting that the club had thrown him under the bus this season.

There was also a dig at Jamie Carragher, as Salah acknowledged that his comments would provoke further criticism from the former Liverpool center-back, who has had plenty to say about the way Salah conducts himself in the media over the last year or so.

Carragher blasted back at Salah in an appearance on Sky Sports' Monday Night Football, saying: "I thought it was a disgrace what he did after the game.

"Some people have painted it as an emotional outburst, I do not think it was.

"I think whenever Mo Salah stops in a mixed zone, which he's done four times in eight years at Liverpool, it is choreographed by him and his agent to cause maximum damage and to strengthen his own position."

Salah shared a picture of himself working alone in the gym at the AXA Training Center on Tuesday after being left out of the traveling squad by Slot.

Carragher responded to seeing the picture by posting on social media: "I’m not sure I’ve wanted Liverpool to win a game more than tonight for a long time! Come on you mighty Reds."

Slot's pre-game press conference in Milan on Monday was dominated by questions about Salah.

The Liverpool head coach had this to say when asked if he feels as though his relationship with Salah has broken down: "No, that's not the way I feel. But he has the right to feel how he feels things.

"I haven't felt that at all until Saturday evening for sure, because I think when I didn't play him anymore, usually players don't like the manager then that much.

"But he was very respectful to my staff members, to his teammates, and he trained really hard. So, to an extent, it was a surprise to me when I heard after the game that he gave the comments he gave.

"But, as I said, it's not the first and not the last time that when a player doesn't play, I'm not sure if he was emotional or not, but that he says something similar to what he did.

"But I think our, my, reaction to that is also clear, and that's that he's not here with us tonight."
