Jamie Carragher insists he 'adores' Arne Slot despite warning the Liverpool boss that he could be fired, if he doesn't deliver Champions League football this season.
Slot has found himself under pressure this term after a disappointing title defense, with Liverpool currently sat in sixth in the Premier League table, 14 points adrift of leaders Arsenal, and in danger of missing out on next season's Champions League.
Saturday's defeat to Bournemouth was Liverpool's seventh of the campaign already and the Dutchman is in need of a win and a performance from his players when they welcome Qarabag to Anfield on Wednesday night.

Carragher has now doubled down on those comments and why he likes Slot, he says the Dutchman must accept the pressure that has come his way.
“It’s difficult if you go from champions to not making the Champions League. You’ve got to believe that your manager is taking you somewhere," Carragher told The Athletic.

"What you never want to do — and Manchester United has made this mistake a couple of times — is when you’re thinking, ‘I think we should change it, but I’m not 100 per cent’, and then get to October and you think, ‘We should have done it’.
“I hate even talking about it, because I adore the manager. He won us the league, the football was amazing, but there is a lot of criticism out there from Liverpool supporters.
"If he gets into the Champions League and we see signs of progression, has a good run in the FA Cup or Champions League, I’d say, ‘No, this is a collective thing. The players aren’t playing how they were, the manager hasn’t had his best season, the people above him have got to take a lot of responsibility’.

Liverpool faces a run of fixtures that is likely to prove vital to this season's ambitions, with Newcastle making the trip to Anfield this weekend.
That is followed by another home game against Manchester City on February 8, before a difficult trip to Sunderland, with Liverpool's away record a cause for concern at the moment.
