Jamie Carragher has given his view on the title race between Arsenal and Man City after Mikel Arteta's side dropped points
Jamie Carragher admitted he was "glad" Arsenal surrendered further points in the Premier League title race – though he'd still prefer them to triumph ahead of Manchester City.
The Gunners commanded a two-goal advantage over bottom-placed Wolves on Wednesday evening, but shipped a stoppage-time goal to relinquish their lead and had to settle for a draw. The result means City can now narrow the gap to just two points should they win their match in hand.
Arsenal have drawn their previous two league fixtures, with Brentford also securing a stalemate against them recently. Their lead at the summit has diminished, and Carragher acknowledges that having the title race firmly alive heading into the crucial final stages makes it more captivating.

Nevertheless, the former Liverpool defender revealed Arsenal as his favoured champions, citing the importance of variety amongst recent title winners. Before this campaign, the previous eight Premier League crowns had been divided between either City or Liverpool.
Speaking on CBS, Carragher said: "I think I would rather Arsenal win it, because I think it is good for a league to have different winners. It would mean over the last three years we'd have had three different winners, which I think is good.
"But what I don't want, unless it's my own team, to run away with a league so I'm glad with that result tonight, because it makes it exciting and gives us things to talk about, creates stories between now and the end of the season. So I think it's good for the Premier League."
Arsenal have featured in every title race since the 2022/23 campaign, yet have consistently finished as runners-up. On two occasions it was City who managed to overtake them in the closing stages, and once more Pep Guardiola's side are attempting to hunt them down.
The Gunners must still travel to the Etihad, and the outcome at Wolves means the Manchester club now understand they can secure all their remaining fixtures and surpass Mikel Arteta's team.
The north London side still need to dispel the uncertainty surrounding their failure to cross the finishing line. They haven't lifted silverware since the FA Cup in 2020 despite investing substantial amounts into the squad during that time.
They remain in the running for all four trophies this campaign, but their back-to-back draws in the Premier League have prompted questions about whether they can finish the task.
