Incoming Liverpool center-back Jeremy Jacquet says his operation went "very well" this week after he underwent surgery on his shoulder ahead of moving to Anfield in the summer.
The Reds agreed a deal worth around $83 million (£60 million) with Rennes for Jacquet in January, which will go through at the end of the season. Just days after that was announced, he picked up a painful setback.
Initially, it was unclear if Jacquet would require surgery, but it was then determined that he did. And the Frenchman has now posted on Instagram with a message to Rennes and Liverpool fans.

"A long phase of rehabilitation is about to begin. I will give it my all during this time to come back stronger."
It remains to be seen whether or not Jacquet has played his last game for Rennes. He is set to be out for a substantial period but hopes to return in time to start pre-season.

"Jeremy Jacquet is set to undergo surgery," a Rennes statement read earlier this week. "On the pitch against Lens on February 7th, Jeremy Jacquet was forced to leave the game early due to a left shoulder injury.
"Following medical examinations, surgery has been scheduled in the coming days. Stade Rennais F.C. wishes him a speedy recovery."
Last summer, Liverpool was very close to signing Marc Guehi, who ended up at Manchester City a few months later instead. Jacquet was determined to be the right fit.
As things stand, Ibrahima Konate will be out of contract when the season finishes, with his current deal set to expire. Virgil van Dijk, 35, will only have one year remaining.

Giovanni Leoni arrived from Parma last summer, but he has only played for the Reds once and picked up a long-term injury. He, too, is aiming to be back for the summer ahead of pre-season.
Liverpool.com says: Jacquet appears to be a very exciting signing. Getting ahead of the game with a center-back signing well in advance of the summer starting was the right idea ahead of another big window.
In addition to sorting out its central defensive area, Liverpool could also do with adding some more pace in attack, especially in wide areas. It might also need another midfielder depending on a few factors like contract negotiations.
