Jermaine Jeans has labelled Tottenham’s upcoming clash with Liverpool as a defining moment for Thomas Frank, insisting the manager cannot afford another slip-up as pressure mounts in north London.
Tottenham Hotspur’s dismal run of just one win in their last seven Premier League matches has thoroughly derailed what was a strong start to the campaign, when they lost once in their first games of the campaign.
The heavy 3-0 defeat at the City Ground against Nottingham Forest last weekend has only served to compound the pressure on Thomas Frank, a manager whom many Tottenham supporters are yet to be fully sold on.
Liverpool are up next in the Premier League, and former Spurs midfielder Jermaine Jenas believes that the match is now a must-win scenario for Frank and his struggling side if they are to stop the rot.

Jermaine Jenas issues Thomas Frank a ‘must-win’ warning ahead of Tottenham vs Liverpool
Speaking ahead of the heavyweight encounter, Jenas suggested that the magnitude of the fixture cannot be understated, given the current climate at Tottenham.
The pundit highlighted the inconsistency in team selection as a major issue, telling 10bet: “I think it is going to be huge. I think this is a manager that could be under pressure.
“I think when there has been no real consistency with the line-ups and the tactics, it is difficult to predict how players are going to perform.
“I want to see a bit of an improvement in the forward areas too. Yes, there are injuries at the football club but they have still got decent players there.
“This is a must-win for Frank, so he can avoid more pressure being put on him.”
Spurs supporter patience is wearing thin as Frank’s side struggles
The pressure is already weighing heavily on Frank, particularly from the supporters, who have not been shy to give the Dane some flak during matches already this season.
Spurs fans have often booed their team off the pitch following lacklustre displays where they have been outplayed and seemingly void of creativity.
The weekend’s action against Liverpool takes place at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and for Frank, it will be vital that he at least avoids a heavy defeat at the hands of Arne Slot’s side, as a poor result could lead to a toxic atmosphere and further criticism of the manager.
