Jordan Henderson found himself embroiled in a massive brawl following Brentford's goalless draw at Bournemouth.

With scant entertainment unfolding over the 90 minutes, it all erupted at the final whistle. Players, coaches and managers were involved as Henderson, 35, had to be restrained while in a heated exchange with one of Bournemouth's staff.

The England international had participated in the first hour of the Premier League encounter. Elsewhere in the Premier League, Liverpool lost 2-1 to Wolves at Molineux after Andre's last-minute winner. The brawl involving Henderson seemed to ignite from a disagreement between both sets of coaching teams.

Henderson descended from the substitutes' bench and got involved alongside teammate Ethan Pinnock.

Before long, Brentford manager Keith Andrews was swept up in the skirmish. Andrews and his counterpart, Andoni Iraola, acted as peacekeepers, as the pandemonium eventually devolved into a shouting match before gradually subsiding.

Post-match, Andrews admitted that he had no idea what sparked the scrap.

"Not really sure," Andrews told the BBC. "I definitely didn't start it. "I think the game was played with a really competitive edge tonight. It probably spilled over a little bit at the end."

Iraola suggested that the disagreement was between Henderson and one of his coaches, Shaun Cooper.

The match itself was less eventful, with the two sides producing a combined 2.49 expected goals. Bournemouth had the lion's share of the opportunities but seemed to forget its shooting boots.

However, it's now nine matches unbeaten for the Cherries, who climbed to ninth place. For Brentford, the draw was a stark contrast from Saturday's thrilling 4-3 victory at Burnley.

Henderson shared with TNT Sports: "I thought it was a good game. Maybe both will be disappointed they didn't win the game.

"Overall, we felt comfortable, but they had decent chances; they hit the post and had a goal disallowed. I still felt we had our moments. So maybe a draw was a fair result in the end."

The former Liverpool skipper seemed to show signs of frustration when he was taken off in the 62nd minute. "Did I? That's normal," Henderson responded. "We've learnt from mistakes in the first half of the season. We're in a pretty good place at the moment.

"We just need to keep improving. For us, it's about staying humble and doing all the things we've done this season, which is working hard for each other. But also just playing with the confidence and freedom to try and win games."
