A journalist has weighed in on the reports linking Tottenham forward Mathys Tel with a move to a Champions League club this month.
The game against Sunderland was the first time that the Frenchman had started for the Lilywhites since October.
Given his struggles for game time and his omission from the Champions League squad, it has been reported that Tel could be loaned out by Tottenham this month.
According to reports, Spurs have no intention of selling the former Bayern Munich man permanently as they see him as one for the future.

Move to Champions League club ruled out for Tottenham forward Mathys Tel
It has been reported over recent weeks that AS Roma are keen on landing Tel on loan, with the youngster’s versatility thought to appeal to the Serie A side.
Meanwhile, it has been claimed by Turkish outlet Yeni Akit that Galatasaray are also exploring a move for the Tottenham Hotspur forward.
However, Sky Sports Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg has now taken to social media to state that there is no truth to reports linking Tel with a switch to Galatasaray.
Plettenberg wrote on X: “Rumours linking Galatasaray with Mathys Tel are currently wide of the mark!”
Thomas Frank has sent a big hint about Tel’s future
Thomas Frank described Tel’s performance as a ‘big positive’ following his side’s 1-1 draw against Sunderland.
Subsequently, when asked about the possibility of the forward leaving on loan, the Tottenham boss pointed out that the club are short of options upfront. This is especially the case following the injury to Mohammed Kudus.
That suggests that Frank is not thinking about offloading Tel, even though he has been reluctant to hand starts to the France U21 international.
