A report has shed light on whether Conor Gallagher will have to wait for his Tottenham Hotspur debut or whether he is expected to be thrown into the deep end straightaway against West Ham.

Gallagher has become Spurs’ first signing of the January transfer window, and his arrival has lifted the mood at the club as new signings tend to do.

The new Tottenham signing has admitted he cannot wait to get going in the Premier League again after 18 months away from England.

Gallagher trained with his Tottenham teammates on Thursday in preparation for the big London derby, with Thomas Frank facing a big decision tomorrow.

Conor Gallagher is expected to start for Tottenham against West Ham

A new report in TEAMtalk has now backed up what we have heard from other sources by revealing that Aston Villa had reached an agreement with Atletico Madrid for the former Chelsea man before Spurs swooped in.

The outlet revealed that Tottenham barely took any time to blow Villa out of the water with a £34m and quickly struck a deal with the La Liga side.

It is suggested that Rodrigo Bentancur’s injury may have been the reason why Spurs pounced so quickly on Gallagher.

The outlet asserts that the 25-year-old is expected to walk straight into Tottenham’s starting line-up for the big London derby against West Ham.

What Thomas Frank has said about Gallagher

Thomas Frank referred to Gallagher as a ‘top signing’, admitting that the midfielder is exactly what Tottenham needed at the moment.

In his most recent press conference, Frank also said that Gallagher can walk straight into the team and improve Tottenham immediately.

The Dane’s comments thus clearly suggest that he is not planning on easing the England international in and is willing to trust him straightaway.
