The Telegraph’s Matt Law believes that Tottenham Hotspur sent a clear message about their stance on Thomas Frank with their social media post.

The speculation over the Tottenham head coach’s future has been non-stop over the last month or two.

It has been widely reported that the Spurs board is considering all options on Frank, including the possibility of replacing him with an interim head coach.

Various Premier League coaches are alleged to be in contention to replace Frank at N17, and a latest announcement by the club has further fueled the speculation.

Tottenham sent a clear message with John Heitinga’s appointment

Given the ongoing speculation about the former Brentford boss, the announcement that John Heitinga has joined Tottenham as first-team assistant coach only served to add to the rumours on social media.

Heitinga has experience as a head coach at Ajax, and some were wondering if the Dutchman’s appointment is Spurs’ way of future-proofing in case they decide to call time on Frank’s stint.

However, Matt Law has pointed out that Tottenham’s decision to announce Heitinga’s arrival by sharing a picture of him next to Frank is a clear sign from the North London club that they are planning to stick with the Dane.

The journalist also revealed that Frank himself interviewed the former Everton centre-back and was one of the driving forces of the appointment.

Law wrote on X: “Think it’s significant that Frank is pictured with Heitinga. Also, Frank interviewed Heitinga himself before Christmas and drove the appointment. May ruin a few conspiracy theories.”

Spurs have made their intentions clear regarding Thomas Frank

Based on how highly Frank has talked about Conor Gallagher, it is clear that the England international’s signing was pushed by the Dane.

Reports indicate that more signings are on the way to Tottenham this month, with the club keen to show its ambition.

The fact that Frank is being backed in the transfer market is a clear sign that Spurs have confidence in the 52-year-old to turn this around and are willing to give him the tools he needs to do that.
