Jurgen Klopp is set to make his return to Anfield in March, with the former Liverpool boss the latest to be announced for the club’s upcoming Legends game.
The Reds will take on Borussia Dortmund Legends on March 28, with Klopp - who of course managed both clubs - returning to the Anfield dugout for the first time since his departure in 2024.
The German will take on the role as Sir Kenny Dalglish’s assistant for the Liverpool side, with a number of players having been announced for the game so far, including Steven Gerrard, Sami Hyypia, Fabio Aurelio, Yossi Benayoun, Jerzy Dudek and Pepe Reina.

Klopp’s return will no doubt add some more emotion to the occasion, with the German having bid farewell to Liverpool nearly two years ago following a hugely successful spell in charge, which saw the Reds win the Premier League and Champions League among other trophies.
Since leaving Anfield, Klopp has taken up a role as Red Bull’s head of global soccer, which sees him leading the soccer operations for the energy drinks company’s stable of clubs.

Klopp though has never ruled out a return to Anfield. The 58-year-old was back on Merseyside last May to watch Arne Slot’s side lift the Premier League title, and a return to manage the Reds isn’t out of the question either.
"I said I will never coach a team in England again, that means if it's Liverpool, theoretically it's possible," Klopp explained on the Diary of a CEO podcast.
However, Klopp also indicated that he isn’t looking to make a return to management any time soon.
"I don't know exactly, I love what I do right now. I don't miss coaching, I do coach now but just different,” Klopp said.

"I don't miss standing in the rain, two-and-a-half [to] three hours; I don't miss going to press conferences three times a week, and having 12 interviews a week. I don't miss that; I don't.
"I don't miss being in the dressing room, I coached something like 1,080 games so I was in a dressing room often. I don't want to die in a dressing room because it's nice. It smells.”
Gerrard is set to captain Liverpool's legends against Dortmund, with Sander Westerveld, Gregory Vignal and Martin Kelly among the other players confirmed to be featuring for the Reds.
