Juventus might soon have a spare spot on its roster that needs filling amid fresh transfer links with Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez, who could still leave Anfield for the right price this summer.
Nunez has been at Liverpool since the summer of 2022 when he arrived from the Portuguese team Benfica. But three years on, he could depart having failed to fully ignite in the Premier League.
Napoli was keen on Nunez earlier in the summer, but that interest has since cooled. There has also been speculation regarding a potential move to Saudi Arabia, though it isn't clear how convinced the player would be on such a switch.
Now, Juventus general director, Damien Comolli, who used to work for Liverpool, has confirmed that Dusan Vlahovic can leave this summer.
An agreement has been made with Vlahovic that he will be allowed to depart. And despite the addition of Jonathan David on a free transfer from Lille, Juventus is still looking to bring in another striker too.
It had Randal Kolo Muani on loan from PSG in the second half of last season. It remains to be seen whether it will be possible to re-sign the Frenchman on a permanent basis, with Nunez appearing to be another option.
"Vlahovic can leave for the right offer," Comolli said. "We've had discussions in the United States, and we’re in agreement.
"Kolo Muani wants to return to play for us, and we’re working on it. We’re not worried about having David and Vlahovic together, but we will see."
According to the Italian outlet TuttoSport, Juventus would be interested in snapping up Nunez on a loan deal with an obligation to buy the Uruguayan next summer, delaying the payment.
Juventus' priority might still be Kolo Muani, but Nunez could be a strong alternative. Liverpool has already signed Hugo Ekitike to play at number nine, and could also sign Alexander Isak from Newcastle United should the North East side open the door to an exit.

As it stands, Newcastle has been adamant that Isak will not be leaving. Should the Swede land on Merseyside, it would look even harder for Nunez to find a way into Arne Slot's starting XI.
Liverpool.com says: Nunez could be a real player in Italy. It hasn't really worked for him in England, but in a different league, he could really come to life.
It is not far-fetched to imagine Nunez scoring regularly in Serie A. Napoli looked like the ideal move, but Juventus would be another big club that could prove appealing to him. AC Milan has also been put forward as an option elsewhere.
