Manchester City legend Kevin De Bruyne has shown his true colours with a social media post ahead of kick-off in Thursday's Champions League clash with Napoli.
The former City midfielder, who spent the best part of ten years playing for the club, left for new pastures in the summer with Pep Guardiola deciding not to offer the Belgian midfielder a new deal.
At 34-years-old, De Bruyne left the Premier League with a point to prove and he already has two goals in three Serie A appearances this season for the reigning Italian champions.
However, the clash with City will be the first real acid test for Antonio Conte's side. Guardiola and his team will be hoping De Bruyne does not come back to haunt City.
Ahead of kick-off, the veteran midfielder shared two images from the Etihad Stadium onto his Instagram account, accompanied with a waving emoji, suggesting he's delighted to be returning to a ground he called home for so long.
Speaking about the Premier League and Champions League winner's return earlier this week, Guardiola said: "Of course it’s nice for him to come back. [I’m excited] to see him after the game,” said the City boss.
"Not surprised [on his start in Italy]. He plays at that level, absolutely quick - the players at that level don’t need to adapt.
"[What does he give to Napoli?] His incredible talent, vision, pass, assists and goals in the final third. He’s unique."
