Kulusevski, Udogie, Bissouma - Tottenham injury and team news for Burnley Premier League clash

Tottenham Hotspur have as many as seven players unavailable for their first match of the Premier League season against Burnley.

It has been a bruising pre-season for Spurs, with several squad members sustaining injuries while preparing for this campaign. However, their issues are easing, with Dominic Solanke returning as a substitute in the UEFA Super Cup defeat to Paris Saint-Germain and they also appear to have come through that game unscathed.

Head coach Thomas Frank has since provided an update during his pre-match press conference. Below is a round-up of the latest information available about the situations of several players:

Bryan Gil

Injury: Knee.

What has happened: Gil had surgery on his injury towards the end of last season and continue his rehabilitation.

Possible return date: Unknown.

Dejan Kulusevski

Injury: Knee.

Frank has said: "I don't like to put a timeline on it [but] put it this way: he's not ready for the first game of the season."

Possible return date: Unknown.

Destiny Udogie

Injury: Knee.

Frank has said: "Destiny is progressing, but it's too early for him to be involved in the squad."

Possible return date: Unknown.

James Maddison

Injury: ACL.

Frank has said: "I think it's disappointing but also devastating for me and mainly for Madders that he's out of the team. We will miss him, and no doubt he will miss playing football."

Possible return date: April 2026.

Kota Takai

Injury: Heel.

Frank has said: "Kota got a plantar fascia injury, unfortunately, we don't know the scale of it - weeks."

Possible return date: Unknown.

Manor Solomon

Injury: Calf.

Frank has said: "Manor is just back from his injury. In terms of being on the pitch, he had a part training with the team yesterday [Thursday, 14], so hopefully he can progress after that.

Possible return date: Unknown.

Radu Dragusin

Injury: ACL.

What has happened: Dragusin had surgery on his injury and continues to rehabilitate.

Possible return date: Late 2025.

Yves Bissouma

Issue: Disciplinary.

Frank has said: "There was a situation. I addressed this. There was a consequence. Bissouma will be in the squad [for Burnley]. We've dealt with the situation. I think these situations you deal with internally, of course, so yeah, it's dealt with. I'm looking forward."
