Tyrhys Dolan has joined Spanish side Espanyol after leaving Blackburn Rovers at the end of his contract.

Dolan has signed a three-year deal with the La Liga club that will run until June 2028.

The forward's departure brought an end to his five-year stay at Ewood Park, following his 2020 arrival from Preston North End.

During that time Dolan, 23, made 211 appearances for Blackburn and scored 26 goals.

He was offered a new deal by Blackburn but instead opted to move on for a new challenge.

Dolan told Espanyol's website, external: "I'm excited. The club is amazing. [It's a] beautiful city. Me and my family are very excited for this new journey. It's an honour to play for Espanyol.

"La Liga is one of the best leagues in the world, so [it's an] exciting opportunity for me to come and showcase my talent.

"The main thing is for me to give 110%, every single game. I'm an exciting player. Skilful, direct, want to get fans off their seats."

Espanyol finished 14th in Spain's top flight last season but Dolan said: "We can definitely keep pushing up the table higher, to be a solid La Liga team.

"Last season the team did very well but we aim to keep pushing higher and hopefully [with] me joining the team, we can."
