Arsenal came away 4-0 winners at Leeds United but Bukayo Saka had to be withdrawn from the warm-up in a blow to Mikel Arteta
Bukayo Saka became Arsenal's latest injury concern after pulling out of the warm‑up with a minor 'niggle' ahead of their Premier League clash against Leeds United. Shortly before kick‑off, Saka left the pre‑match warm‑up and led down the Elland ROad tunnel by a physio.
The England international was swiftly replaced in the starting lineup by Noni Madueke. Speaking to Sky Sports after the game, Arteta explained why he made the late change and confirmed tests will be made on Sunday to establish the nature of the problem.
The Gunners boss said: "So in the warm-up he had a little niggle, he wasn't comfortable to start the game, so immediately we made a decision to make that change and bring Noni in.
"And he was ready, because you cannot do that in two minutes. The way he prepares, the way he's waiting for opportunity, I think he paid off today because he really impacted the team."
Jurrien Timber and William Saliba both returned to the matchday squad after missing the 3-2 Champions League win over Kairat Almaty in midweek. Arteta admitted the pair had been carrying niggles after playing a lot of minutes.

"They are OK, obviously they have been playing a lot of minutes," Arteta said. "They've been carrying a few niggles. It was a really good opportunity [vs Kairat] to offload them a little bit and refresh them."
Up next is the Carabao Cup semi-final match against Chelsea on Tuesday (February 3) and football.london has taken a look at the latest news from the Gunners' treatment room.
Bukayo Saka
Arteta will be hopeful he can call on the England international for their Carabao Cup semi‑final second leg against Chelsea, despite the discomfort he felt in the warm‑up.
Potential return date: Carabao Cup vs Chelsea (Tuesday 3).
Max Dowman
The Arsenal youngster suffered an ankle ligament damage injury in December.
The 15-year-old picked up the injury after a challenge during an under-21s friendly against Manchester United at St George's Park.
What Arteta said this week: "'It will be a little bit more [longer] than Mosquera. He's growing, and we need to be very careful and a little more protective. He has a different schedule as well because he needs to go to school but I think he's quite close. He's on the pitch now, he's doing well."
Potential return date: February.
