Liam Gallagher was booed again on stage in Manchester after paying tribute to two of his Man City idols in the crowd at Heaton Park.

The rock 'n' roll star found himself taking on fans again at Oasis' fifth and final show at Heaton Park on Sunday night - a fate that had befallen him at the very start of the residency in Manchester too last Friday (July 11), when he paid tribute to Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola who was in attendance.

Over the last ten days, Oasis Mania has taken over the city as the band reunited for the first time in 16 years to the delight of more than 340,000 fans over five nights.

Both Rodri and Phil Foden were in the crowds for the final night of the Oasis Live '25 show on Sunday, July 20, and the frontman took it upon himself to give the stars a shoutout. Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany was also in the crowd at the final show too.

Liam halted the show to say: "Pay respects to Mr Ballon D'or" before a few boos were heard.

He quickly fumed: "don't be f***ing booing I'll get to yous in a minute."

Rodri, the Manchester City and Spain midfielder, won the 2024 Ballon d'Or award. He was the first Manchester City player and the first Spanish player in six decades to win the prestigious award.

Liam then continued his tributes to the Manchester City pair saying: "and the wunderkid our Phil, respect".

He then told the crowd it was "Poznan time" where he gets the audience to do the famed bouncing dance that Man City adopted as celebration, to the raucous strains of Cigarettes and Alcohol.

It was at this point that the band also projected onto the screen a live stream of the infamous Gallagher Hill, which looked down onto the main stage from a hill on the other side of the park.

During the first of their reunion gigs back at Heaton Park, ticketless fans could see a small portion of the screens inside the arena, allowing them to catch a glimpse of their idols.

However, following the first run of shows, Manchester Council fenced off a section of the hill, obscuring the view of the stage set up. But that has done little to deter the ticketless.

Choosing not to be deterred though, thousands have still headed up for each show and tonight was no different, although unfortunately the good mood on the hill turned slightly sour for a brief period this evening.

Camping chairs, toilet roll and bottles were hurled as ticketless Oasis fans 'scrapped' on 'Gallagher Hill' during the final concert at Heaton Park on Sunday (July 20).

During the concert, witnesses claimed tensions rose between groups of fans who were involved in 'football chanting'. It appeared there were also clashes between Manchester City and Manchester United fans.

Video footage showed toilet rolls, bottles and other items being thrown towards either end of the separate groups, with witnesses saying camping chairs were also lobbied across the grounds. Others could be heard screaming as they tried to dodge items being thrown in their direction.
