Liam Rosenior has set the record straight, outlining his plan for Alejandro Garnacho at Chelsea.
Liam Rosenior has provided an update on Alejandro Garnacho's future at Chelsea. The 21-year-old winger, whom the Blues only signed from Manchester United for £40million last summer, has recently been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge.
On Monday morning, talkSPORT reported that the west Londoners are willing to sell Garnacho at the end of the season. They claimed that there's an 'acceptance' among Chelsea higher-ups that the signing of the Argentina international has not worked out.
Garnacho, whose contract doesn't expire until June 2032, has featured 39 times across all competitions, scoring eight goals and providing four assists. Although the Argentine has struggled to impress, so have many of his teammates, with the Blues in grave danger of failing to qualify for the UEFA Champions League.
Speaking to reporters at Cobham on Monday afternoon, just hours after the report was published, Rosenior provided an update on Garnacho's future. The Chelsea boss downplayed the suggestion that the forward will leave in the summer.

"I’d like to know the source of the report," said Rosenior. "These reports can come from anywhere. Garna is 21. Garna is someone who has special qualities when he is in a good place and he’s in good form. And my job is to help him reach those levels."
Last month, the Chelsea boss leapt to the defence of Garnacho, insisting that he's an 'outstanding player'. Rosenior said: "Garna is a top player. We have changed a little bit tactically since I came in.

Sky has upgraded its Ultimate TV and Sky Sports bundle to now include HBO Max, Netflix, Disney+, discovery+ and Hayu, as well as 135 channels and full Sky coverage of the Premier League and EFL.
Sky broadcasts more than 1,400 live matches across the Premier League, EFL and more with at least 215 live from the top flight alongside Formula 1, darts and golf.
"I have wanted to dominate midfield areas, which has meant at times I have only played with one winger. But Garna is an outstanding player. What I have really liked in this period is his reaction to not starting. He has been training very, very well. He has shown real positivity."
At just 21, Garnacho has already played over 100 times in the Premier League. In a recent interview with Premier League Productions, the winger lifted the lid on the pressure of playing at the very highest level in his formative years.
"I'm still very young, I'm a kid, I play football," said Garnacho, who's often singled out and booed by opposition supporters. "In this world, you play in front of a lot of people, that's maybe why people can talk about you but I'm just a normal boy."
When asked if he's misunderstood, he replied: "Yes, I think people see for example, the player you are, but then after this, there's a person there. A lot of people think things about me that are maybe not like this, and they don't know me, but I know my family loves me and the people around me - that's the most important thing.
"A lot of people in the world today, they can say anything about you. They think I'm totally different to what I am. Maybe they think I'm arrogant, or not humble, things like this. I'm just a normal guy. The people who I love, they love me, so that's important.
"Everything you do; if you do your hair, or you [get] tattoos, everyone will know, everyone will speak and say good things and bad things. This is the world we live [in] and I want to live [in] because I love football."
Garnacho added: "It's hard sometimes but you have to know that life in football is like this. Everyone says good things about you all the time, it's impossible, so you have to deal with this.
"You have to know when you do good things and bad things and then try to do your best and then people will talk about you how they want anyway."
