Liam Rosenior has made a bizarre claim that Roy Keane "did that 20 games a game" when reflecting on Enzo Fernandez and Filip Jorgensen's tense incident against Paris Saint-Germain.

Chelsea midfielder Fernandez raged at Jorgensen after the goalkeeper endured a nightmare moment in the 74th minute of Wednesday's Champions League Round of 16 first leg tie at the Parc des Princes.

With score locked at 2-2, Jorgensen attempted to pass the ball through midfield, but it was intercepted by Bradley Barcola and Vitinha ended up chipping the ball over the 'keeper to put PSG ahead.

Cameras showed Fernandez shouting at Jorgensen, moving his arms in his direction and even throwing the ball at him in the aftermath. Jorgensen offered his verdict back, but most Chelsea fans were on Fernandez's side.

Delivering his assessment on the altercation, Rosenior said in his pre-Newcastle United press conference on Friday that it was no more than "frustration" from Fernandez in that moment. The Chelsea head coach even compared the incident to one former Manchester United midfielder Keane used to do "20 times a game".

"I watched it back, I was asked about it after the game, I hadn't seen it," Rosenior said. "As a player with passion, he wants to win. Roy Keane did that probably. Roy Keane was my manager, but Roy Keane as a player probably did that 20 times a game.

"I want a team with a culture of accountability where we can demand from each other in the moment. Enzo loves Filip, Enzo wants the best for him, Enzo believes in him. In that moment he was frustrated with something that happened and that's normal, isn't it?"

PSG went on to score two more to run out 5-2 winners, with some arguing that Jorgensen was at fault for the fifth goal, as Khvicha Kvaratskhelia's low shot spurned underneath his grasp and trickled into the net.

Question marks were raised when Rosenior decided to start Jorgensen for the trip to Paris instead of Robert Sanchez, who has been the club's first-choice stopper for at least the last 18 months.

But, following an "outstanding" performance in the 4-1 win at Aston Villa earlier this month, Rosenior stuck with the Sweden international to face PSG, after Sanchez was picked against Wrexham in the FA Cup.

"Obviously I made a decision to play Filip against Villa and his performance was outstanding." Rosenior added. "His performance against PSG for 75 minutes was outstanding but then he made a mistake. Rob Sanchez is one of the best goalkeepers in the league but I have to make a decision for every game."

Next up for the Blues is a home game against Newcastle in the Premier League on Saturday. It remains to be seen, at this stage, whether Rosenior decides to stick with Jorgensen or recall Sanchez to the XI.
