Chelsea are still well short in several areas under Liam Rosenior and will need to strengthen their squad further in the summer transfer window
Chelsea head coach Liam Rosenior has revealed he expects "physicality, technicality and positional things" from potential new players in a transfer hint ahead of the summer. The Blues are struggling badly under the former Strasbourg boss, having lost their last three Premier League games.
Rosenior's side are now stuck in sixth and sit four points off fifth-placed Liverpool - a position which guarantees Champions League football for next season. Chelsea remain in contention to win a first FA Cup since 2018, where they face Leeds in the semi-finals later this month at Wembley Stadium.
But even winning the oldest domestic competition in world football will not mask their failure of missing out on Europe's elite competition. No Champions League football is also likely to affect their ability to attract top talent to Stamford Bridge.
Rosenior has outlined what he wants from a Chelsea player ahead of an uncertain summer for him and his club. The 41-year-old has opened up on the Blues' transfer plans after Sunday's dismal 3-0 defeat to Manchester City.

He said: “Yeah, even over the last week, we've had lots of detailed conversations about what we need to look like moving forward from the summer window.
"You talk about all different aspects of the game, physicality, technicality, positional things.
"They're all things that we're in talks in and we know what we want to improve and we know where we want to improve in the summer.”
Chelsea now face a huge game at home to Manchester United on Saturday (8pm BST). Defeat in that match could all but signal the end of their Champions League qualification ambitions with only five league fixtures to play after that.
Rosenior is coming under growing pressure in west London and admitted after the City defeat that he needs results soon.
He added: "I need to win in this moment. This is a huge football club.
"When I first came, I never asked for a lot of time because I understand this club. I understand the traditions and the history of this club. I would like to have that time and I'm confident that in that time, you can create something very, very special within the time that it takes, which even someone as experienced as Pep or Jurgen Klopp when he won the titles he did at Liverpool, they had a year to sort things out.
"I've come in January. It's not an excuse. It's a reality. I need to win in the now and that's what I'll be focused on."
