Liam Rosenior outlines Enzo Fernandez stance as Chelsea injury update given on three players

1 hour ago 2

Liam Rosenior has confirmed that Enzo Fernandez will be available for selection for Chelsea's Premier League clash against Manchester United.

The midfielder was left out of the Chelsea squad for the FA Cup quarter-final against Port Vale and the Premier League clash against Man City, due to a club ban. It came following comments he made over the international break regarding his future.

That ban has now elapsed, and Fernandez is expected to be available for Chelsea again. Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Rosenior said: "I don't ever tell you the starting XI.

"Enzo has been training and he has been training very well. It's business as usual in terms of selection for the game."

Rosenior also provided a positive injury update on Levi Colwill, who is stepping up his recovery from a long-term knee injury.

"I'm hoping so [he will return before end of season]," he said. "He's an outstanding player and a leader. Levi will play some minutes for the U21s tomorrow."

He added: "Trev (Chalobah) trained modfied today, we will make a decision. Reece (James) is a little bit further away."

Chelsea will be looking to bounce back from the 3-0 home defeat against Manchester City last week when they host United at Stamford Bridge on Saturday evening (8pm kick-off).

It's a game which could be crucial in the race for Champions League football next season. The Blues are currently in sixth place, four points behind Liverpool in fifth, and seven behind third-placed United.
