Liverpool agrees $88M Luis Diaz transfer as Bayern Munich agreement reached

Liverpool and Bayern Munich have agreed a transfer deal worth $88 million (£66 million) for the Colombian winger Luis Diaz, and the 28-year-old has been given permission to leave the club's pre-season tour in Asia.

Diaz is currently in Tokyo with the majority of his Reds teammates, but will look to travel in the next 24 hours. It is understood that the Reds made two separate attempts to secure a contract extension with the South American winger, which failed due to a gap between offers and demands.

While Liverpool has spent big in the transfer window this summer, this latest exit will bring in another substantial fee. Caoimhin Kelleher and other sales have also offset the spending spree that could continue amid interest in Alexander Isak.
