Liverpool could not have done much more during the summer transfer window. And yet, there is always a question or two over what comes next.
A major summer overhaul after last season’s title triumph has seen some big names depart in the likes of Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunez and Trent Alexander-Arnold, while around $563 million has been spent on new signings.
Records have been broken with Florian Wirtz and Alexander Isak, and Arne Slot’s team has been transformed with the further additions of Milos Kerkez, Jeremie Frimpong, Hugo Ekitike and more. There is now some added pressure for the Reds to deliver more success this season, and so far they are living up to their tag as title favorites.
But even after such a busy summer, there are still some lingering questions that will need to be answered before the next summer window opens...
Back in for Guehi?
We'll start with the obvious - not least because it might end up being the first question answered.
Marc Guehi is clearly a target for the Reds, and had Crystal Palace not pulled the plug at the eleventh hour on deadline day, he would already be a Liverpool player right now.
Since then, reports have suggested that the defender is angry at being denied his move to Anfield, which would suggest Palace has ruined any chance they had at getting him to sign a new contract.
Assuming then that there aren't any other center-backs that take Liverpool's fancy in the next few months, the decision will be whether the Reds revisit their interest in January, or wait to get Guehi for free next summer.
You don't have to be a financial expert to know why getting a player of that quality for nothing would be appealing, but that's also why leaving it until the summer is fraught with risk, as there would almost certainly be other clubs looking to secure his services.
It's a tough call for Liverpool, but if Guehi is as angry as some reports suggest, that might help in getting him at a majorly discounted price in January, which might prove to be the safe option.
Konate's future
What Liverpool does regarding Guehi may well have a bearing on Ibrahima Konate's future - that's assuming the Frenchman's mind isn't already made up.
There have been conflicting reports on just what Konate's priority is, although it looks to be one of two options - either he signs a new contract at Anfield, or he runs down his current deal and joins Real Madrid next summer.
The fact that contract talks have stalled so much isn't too promising a sign, and there might well come a point when Liverpool will cut its losses and look at who's going to be the future of the club - i.e. Guehi and Giovanni Leoni.
There's no denying though that Konate is a top defender, and he showed that against Arsenal on Sunday. Losing another quality option to Real isn't too appealing a thought, and Liverpool could do with finding out quickly just what the 26-year-old is planning.
Chiesa conundrum
You can't help but feel sorry for Federico Chiesa. Having stayed put after making so few appearances last season, you would have thought he might be afforded more chances this time around, and his goal against Bournemouth in the opening game of the season felt like it might have been a turning point.
Less than three weeks after that incredible moment in front of the Kop, the Italian has been left out of Liverpool's Champions League squad, meaning he won't play any part in the Reds' European campaign for at least the first half of the season.

It's not too promising a sign for him when a player who only turned 17 a few days ago, and only has a few minutes of Premier League action under his belt, is getting picked ahead of him, although Rio Ngumoha is no ordinary player.
Still, it does leave a rather pertinent question over Chiesa's place in the squad, and whether he might be deemed surplus to requirements. If that is the case, then it is probably only fair to him that Liverpool considers offers for him next summer, although there is plenty of time for him to make his case to stay at Anfield.
Salah's heir
It hasn't quite been the blistering start to the campaign many would have expected from Mohamed Salah, given just how good he was last season. Then again, a goal and an assist from the first three games isn't a bad record either.
It would be foolish of anyone to write the Egyptian off at this early stage of the season, but what cannot be questioned is the fact that Liverpool needs to be thinking about life after Salah.
Now aged 33, no matter how good he is over the next couple of years, there's no avoiding the fact that he is much, much closer to the end of his Anfield career than the start of it.
Liverpool needs to be looking at potential heirs to his throne on the right wing, and thankfully, reports suggest that will be the priority over the next couple of summers. Bayern Munich's Michael Olise has been touted as an option, although that would be a very difficult one to pull off, but no doubt more potential targets will be identified before the next summer window opens.
