The Reds head to Craven Cottage with a healthier-looking squad than in recent weeks, despite Arne Slot revealing a fresh injury concern for Florian Wirtz in midweek

Liverpool could be without four players for the Premier League encounter against Fulham on Sunday.
The Reds head to Craven Cottage unbeaten in eight, but return to the ground where Arne Slot endured one of his toughest encounters last season. Perhaps the 3-2 defeat at Fulham in April was a sign of things to come for Liverpool in the second half of 2025, as the Reds struggled to match Fulham’s intensity.
The start of 2026 was equally underwhelming, as Liverpool began the new year with a disappointing 0-0 draw against Leeds. The Premier League champions lacked composure and initiative on Thursday, and will hope for a significant improvement this weekend.

“I expect Joe [Gomez] to train with us tomorrow [Friday] and Wata [Endo], not yet,” revealed the Liverpool head coach.
“Again, I think to say we had four players on the bench who haven't played any minutes in the Premier League and these players just keep going with so many players to go.”

Gomez’s return would be a major boost after he missed the last three games through injury, while Endo has not played since the 3-3 draw against Leeds at the start of December.
Conor Bradley, Jeremie Frimpong and Cody Gakpo have also returned from injury in recent weeks, with the Reds’ squad looking healthier at the start of the new year.
However, Slot revealed on Thursday that Florian Wirtz was struggling with a knock heading into the Leeds contest, although he is expected to be fit to face Fulham.
“Two days after the [Wolves] game, he felt his hamstring still too much. That's why he couldn't train and only trained yesterday,” Slot explained ahead of the trip to the capital.
“We have already had two months of non-stop playing football and most of them, six or seven months non-stop playing football,” the Liverpool head coach added on his squad depth.
Liverpool will be without Mohamed Salah once again this weekend due to his participation at the Africa Cup of Nations.
However, should Egypt lose to Benin on Monday, he could be back to face Arsenal in midweek.
Giovanni Leoni and Alexander Isak are Liverpool’s only two long-term injury issues.
