Liverpool could be set to return to the United States this summer, and a meeting with Wrexham could be on the cards for the Reds’ pre-season.
Arne Slot’s side of course still has a lot to play for this season, not least a place in the top four of the Premier League as they look to avoid missing out on a place in next season’s Champions League. The Reds are still in the running for a seventh European crown, while a meeting with Brighton awaits in the fourth round of the FA Cup.
Preparations for next season though are well underway, and not just with the signing of Jeremy Jacquet. Plans are being put together for Liverpool’s pre-season ahead of the 2026/27 campaign, and according to the Daily Mail, that could include a trip Stateside.

Talks are said to have already taken place with Wrexham over a potential friendly against the Welsh side in New York.
Wrexham has grown a strong following in the US thanks to its owners, Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, along with the documentary series “Welcome to Wrexham” which has charted its rise up the leagues.

The Dragons could yet earn a place in next season’s Premier League, with Phil Parkinson’s side currently sitting sixth in the Championship, which would be enough to earn them a place in the end-of-season play-offs.
While a tour to the US is not yet guaranteed, it is viewed as a strong possibility due to the commercial benefits and facilities available.
The Reds’ last visit to the US saw them face Real Betis in Pittsburgh, Arsenal in Philadelphia and Manchester United in Columbia, with Slot’s side winning all three of its encounters ahead of what would turn out to be a title-winning season.

Another pre-season in the US could be complicated by the World Cup, which is due to be held in the States, as well as Canada and Mexico, this summer, with the final taking place on July 19.
Club staff though are said to have enjoyed their last trip across the Atlantic, with the relatively short flight to the east coast, large hotels and facilities available working in Liverpool’s favor.
The Reds have made the journey to Asia for three of their last four pre-seasons, with last summer’s preparations seeing them head to Hong Kong and Japan.
