Liverpool 'engages with Christian Pulisic representatives over summer transfer'

Liverpool is reportedly among the Premier League clubs that have had contact with Christian Pulisic's entourage over a possible return to England for the United States international

Liverpool is reportedly among the Premier League teams that have spoken to Christian Pulisic's representatives over a possible move for the AC Milan star.

Pulisic's current contract with Milan is due to expire next year, although the Serie A club has it within its power to trigger a one-year extension to the American player's deal.

With that being the case, the United States star is effectively contracted to Milan until 2028, which puts the Serie A club in a strong negotiating position should it receive an approach for the 27-year-old from Liverpool or any other Premier League club this summer.

TEAMtalk reports that Pulisic is disappointed that he has not been approached over a new contract at Milan that reflects his status as one of the best attackers in Serie A.

Pulisic joined Milan from Chelsea in 2023 and has registered 45 goals and 25 assists in 121 appearances for the San Siro club.

However, the lack of communication from Milan over fresh terms for Pulisic has reportedly led to the player's entourage sounding out Premier League clubs over a possible return to England for the USA international.

Pulisic spent four years at Chelsea after joining the Stamford Bridge club from Borussia Dortmund in 2019, and despite showing glimpses of quality, ultimately failed to fully establish himself as a regular starter in West London.

The TEAMtalk report says that Tottenham is currently the most likely destination for Pulisic, but that talks have been held with Liverpool, Manchester United and Arsenal.

Liverpool could be in the market for a new forward this summer amid the possibility of Mohamed Salah leaving the club.

Salah is contracted to Liverpool until 2027.

But his form has been disappointing all season, and he is likely to be the subject of lucrative offers from the Saudi Pro League in the off-season.

The Egyptian has not scored in the Premier League since November 1, and although that is caveated by him being at the Africa Cup of Nations for a month, it is clear that he is nowhere near the level that he was at last season.

Salah was the subject of a huge bid from Al-Ittihad in 2023, which was rejected by Liverpool.

But another offer is expected this summer and the player could be more receptive to the move this time around.
