Liverpool will have a chance for revenge after trouncing Galatasaray in the Champions League.
The Reds looked like a dominant force in their 4-1 aggregate win over the Turkish side, with goals from Dominik Szoboszlai, Ryan Gravenberch, Mohamed Salah and Hugo Ekitike. Now, Liverpool has been drawn against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League quarter-finals, with an opportunity to exact revenge this year as the dates of the games already released.
After Liverpool's 1-0 win at Parc des Princes last year, a number of PSG's players noted that they believed they were the better side, despite what the final score indicated. And their bullish claims were vindicated as they made it through and eventually lifted the trophy.

"We're going to show what a team we are, we’re going to show our character. We're going to win there. With the game we played, the victory was more than deserved." Lucas Hernandez added his thoughts, claiming the club was "very confident" before their eventual win.
"We played a good match in the first leg. We are aware of that," he added. "Everyone wants to qualify - it's an objective. We know that it's not going to be easy, it's never easy to play at Anfield. But, we have great players, a great group, a superb team. Frankly, we are in a very good dynamic and we hope to do what is necessary at Anfield."

Manager Luis Enrique even had a message for the Reds following his team's 1-0 loss, stating that because his team was beaten, they will play harder to avenge the loss in their next meeting.
"We are in the best possible conditions to challenge Liverpool, we have nothing to lose and we will give everything to qualify," he said, according to 90 Min. "After the defeat against Liverpool, we were sad but we recovered, we regained our spirits."
Even before their first clash on March 5, 2025, star Joao Neves claimed that PSG was a more complete unit compared to Liverpool, which had individual stars. Speaking on what the club can do to slow down Salah and the offense, Neves stated: "We will try to not give them the ball, try to keep the ball every time we can.

That’s because football is beautiful because it’s a collective game, and I think we are better.”
Knowing that his squad will face PSG once again, manager Arne Slot took a moment to share his thoughts on the matchup. "But that team has shown this season that they haven't dropped their level. And we showed tonight that we can still perform at the level we were performing in large parts of last season. So it gives us a lot of confidence that we have this performance," he began.
"But it's not the first one this season. We've had more of them, especially in Europe. And we have to try to find the consistency. Although I can already spoil or disappoint people, this performance is hardly impossible to copy that one more time.
"Because 5.02 xG on a Champions League night with conceding 0.18 I think. That's not going to be easy to copy that one more time."
